Further Reading in Commuted Synthesis

Laurson et al. [284,283] have developed very high quality synthesis of classical guitar from an extended musical score using the commuted synthesis approach. A key factor in the quality of these results is the great attention to detail in the area of musical control when driving the model from a written score. In contrast to this approach, most of the sound examples in [479] were ``played'' in real time, using a MIDI guitar controller feeding the serial port of a NeXT Computer running SynthBuilder [359].5.21
